Your First Step On the Path of Self-Healing
Psychotherapeutic Counselling can also be referred to as counselling or therapy. Quite simply, this means speaking to a professional who has no bias and no hidden agenda.
Being in therapy is different from speaking to a friend, colleague, your religious leaders or family members. Your story won't be interrupted by someone else sharing their own experience, you won't be given platitudes, or advice, or be told to stay strong and just move on.
What I offer in therapy is a safe and confidential space to be heard with empathy and without judgement.
As an Integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I can tailor different psychotherapeutic approaches to suit your own unique needs. We can work in different ways, this is not a one size fits all approach. Within safe boundaries, we can talk or share silence, we can walk, we can dance, we can sing, we can play, or do some art - This is your space and I encourage you to express in your own unique way, as we explore and discover all aspects of yourself.
I offer open-ended therapy. This means that there is no set number of sessions, though I usually recommend at least 12 sessions. Our sessions are 50 minutes long and held at a regular time once a week.
Sessions can be held face to face at my practice in Richmond, or via secure online video conferencing or telephone. This means that no matter where you are, we can connect. Please get in touch to discover what option works best for you.
Therapy might just be the space you need to come up for air, explore your needs and learn how to express and fulfil them. Whatever you're going through, I hold hope for you. I am here to listen, share your burden and support you on your journey to inner peace and emotional wellbeing.
My goal is to help you come back to your default setting - Love.
Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Couples Therapist (MBACP)
A few years ago, I volunteered through a local church to help support pre-marital couples. I developed an interest in how each individual's experiences, cultures, beliefs, values and family histories impacted the amazing couples I worked with and how they relate together.
I have a very simple view of life - that love makes the world a better place. I believe that healthy relationships are crucial to emotional wellbeing.I wanted to learn more about how to support couples better and embarked on a three year experiential training course to gain more knowledge and skills as a counsellor.
Training to become an Integrative Counsellor has been one of the most rewarding and challenging journeys I have undertaken. I quickly learnt I wasn't there to learn about "other people", but to deepen my knowledge and self-awareness of myself.
A requirement of my training, was that in order to be a therapist, I had to be in therapy as well, so believe me when I say I have sat in the client's chair too!
I continued supporting couples whilst in training and had the privilege of working with children as a counsellor at Place2Be, a registered children's charity. I also took a placement counselling adults at a mental health charity and still continue to volunteer there.
I'm also trained and certified as a Couples & Relationship Therapist to enhance my skills in supporting couples.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, travelling, going for long nature walks, or dancing like no one's watching - sometimes all at the same time!
To find out if I would be the right fit for you, please get in touch.
With Warm Regards,
"Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."- Paul Coelho

You might want to invest in your relationship, or need support to sort out relationship issues. You may have had an affair, or have intimacy issues. You may be going through a life transition, or need emotional support for conception issues.
You may be going through a separation or divorce and need help to consciously uncouple to minimise the impact on your family and Community.
There are so many reasons to come to therapy as a couple. Please get in touch for more information.

Couples Therapy - from £75 - £90 per session

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
I offer open-ended therapy.
The number of sessions you will need will depend on your needs.
Some clients engage in short-term therapy (about 12 sessions) and most of my clients are in long term therapy which can be at least a year.
Some clients may choose to take a break and come back later.
Each person's experience is unique, however the one thing that holds for every client is that you are in the driving seat. You decide.
WHAT DO WE TALK ABOUT FOR 50 MINUTES?
We talk about whatever feels important to you. Sometimes its what you're dealing with now, or it could be something that happened in the past. On another day you may just want to celebrate your wins, or vent about the week you've had. This is your space - religion, politics, race, sex, sexuality, abuse, money, addiction, death and anything else that society sweeps under the carpet is welcome here.
I NEED SOME ADVICE - CAN YOU HELP?
Therapy is not an advice giving service. I can certainly support you in exploring your choices and decision making process. It is my hope that through being in therapy, you begin to gain self-awareness and feel empowered to make decisions that feel right for you, and learn and grow from the consequences and impact of those decisions. I believe that YOU are the expert on your self. You can do this!
I'd love to hear from you.
